Vietnam Airlines Booking Online 

To book a flight on Vietnam Airlines online through the airline’s website, follow the steps below:

1. Go to official website vietnam airlines.
   The flight booking page will open by default
2. Enter your flight requirements, such as your:
   1. Departure (From) airport
   2. Destination (To) airport  
   3. Departure date (Depart)
   4. Return date (if required)
3. Click on the search button marked Tickets Online
4. Select your flight from the available options 
5. Follow the prompts to:
   1. View the pricing in Cash or Cash & Miles
   2. Select your travel class
   3. Enter the passenger details
   4. Add your travel documents
   5. Select Extras (optional)
   6. Make a seat selection
   7. Pay 

You will receive your e-ticket at the email address you provided when booking your ticket. 

How to Check Vietnam Airlines Flight Status 

You can check your Vietnam Airlines flight status by phone (call the airline office in your city/airport) or online through the website.

To check your Vietnam Airlines flight status online, follow the steps below:

1. Go to VietnamAirlines.com
2. Click on the Flight Status tab
   The search by Airport tab will open by default

• You can book up to 9 passengers (incl. infants) per booking.
• Child passengers
  • Passengers between 2 and under 12 years of age on the first flight are treated as children. 
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult booked in the same reservation.
  • Children are entitled to a 10% discount on the applicable adult’s fare. 
  • Children travelling alone must provide a letter of commitment from the legitimate representative to the operating airline.
• Infant passengers
  • Passengers between 7 days and under 2 years of age on the first wholly-operated Vietnam Airlines flight are treated as infants. 
  • Lap infants must travel on the accompanying adult’s lap. 
  • Lap infants are entitled to a 90% discount on the applicable adult fare. 
• If you book online or purchase through Konbini 7- Eleven, the due date/payment period will be 5 days before your flight’s departure.

Vietnam Airlines Manage Booking

You can modify your flight bookings by phone (through the local call center in your area) or online through the website if you purchased your ticket directly from the airline’s website or mobile app. 

Vietnam Airlines Manage Booking functionality allows you to manage your flight bookings by yourself through the airline’s website, as long as you purchase your ticket directly from Vietnam Airlines website or mobile app. 

You can use the Manage Booking functionality to:

Vietnam Airlines Seat Booking 

You can make advance seat selections:

• At the time of booking your flight (online, by phone, or at a ticket office.
• After booking your flight (online via Manage Booking or by phone).

You’re allowed to change your seat after booking, subject to availability, and after paying the full fees if required. 

Seat refunds are not permitted, unless:

• Vietnam Airlines changes its flight schedule.
• You change your seat selection and pay the full fee for the new seat. 

You must claim the refund no later than 14 days after completing your last flight. 

Vietnam Airlines Seating Options

You can choose from the following types of seats in Economy Class:

• Extra Legroom Seats, such as exit row seats that provide more leg space for stretching. 
• Forward Zone Seats, such as seats located closer to the doors that allow you to disembark the aircraft faster. They can be aisle, middle, or window seats.
• Standard Seats, such as most seats in the Economy Class section other than seats next to the emergency exit doors and extra legroom seats.

Seat selection charges depend on the seat type and flight route and start from:

• VND 30.000 on domestic flights.
• USD 5 (~VND 115.000 on international flights. 

Vietnam Airlines Frequent Flyer Program—Lotusmiles

Vietnam Airlines frequent flyer program is called Lotusmiles. Anyone older than 2 years can register for membership through the website or mobile app.

Restrictions on Newborns 

• Infants more than 7 days old and below 2 years of age on the date of the first flight (last flight date for itineraries with a flight operated by another airline) are accepted. 
• Infants must be healthy and accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. 
• The total number of infants on a flight must not exceed 10% of the aircraft’s seating capacity.
• Infants below 7 days will not be accepted. 
• Unhealthy/premature infants (in oxygen tents) will be accepted subject to fulfilling all the required procedures for MEDA passengers and the infant being accompanied by a special nurse or doctor specializing in pediatrics.

Special Assistance 

Vietnam Airlines accepts passengers with disabilities as long as they are otherwise healthy and do not require medical clearance. 

Examples of special services provided by Vietnam Airlines include:

• Mobility aid services
  • Deaf Passenger Service (free)
  • Blind Passenger Service (free)
  • Wheelchair Service for disabled passengers (free)
  • Service dogs accompanying disabled passengers (free)
  • Accompanying cabin crew services are chargeable, except on flights to/from the U.S.
• Medical oxygen services (up to a flow rate of 4 liters per minute)
  • Request the service at least 72 hours before departure—online or by phone.
  • Complete MEDIF I and MEDIF II and bring them to the airport. 
  • The passenger’s physician must specify in the forms above how many liters-per-minute of flow rate will be required.
  • Must travel with a medically qualified escort capable of looking after and handling the passenger’s medical needs, incl. emergency evacuation. 
  • Subject to a fee, unless you’re travelling with a POC on a flight to/from the U.S. (free).
• Stretcher services
  • Request the service at least 72 hours before departure—online or by phone (48 hours before departure for flights to/from the United States.
  • Complete MEDIF I and MEDIF II and bring them to the airport. 
  • Must travel with a medically qualified escort capable of looking after and handling the passenger’s medical needs, incl. emergency evacuation. 
  • Subject to 6 times the highest applicable adult fare plus surcharges.
  • The passenger is entitled to 6 times the free baggage allowance for Vietnam Airlines.
  • Escorts are entitled to a free baggage allowance like normal passengers.
• Special meal services

• Bassinets for infants
  • Provided free of charge for infants not exceeding 2 years of age and 24.2lb/11kg in weight. 
  • Available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

• Unaccompanied minor services
  • Children between 6 and 12 years of age travelling alone must book the Vietnam Unaccompanied Minor service. 
  • The service is optional for children between 12 and 18 years of age. 
  • Unaccompanied Minors must pay the child/adult fare like normal passengers. 
  • Unaccompanied Minor charges are VND500,000 (net fare) for domestic travel within Vietnam and USD 50 for international sectors. 
  • The accompanying cabin crew charges (if booked) will be the applicable adult fare (and surcharges) on the same travel class as the Unaccompanied Minor. 
• Extra seat service (EXST) 
  • Subject to 100% of the applicable adult fare plus surcharges per seat.

  • On flights to/from the U.S. 

An escort is mandatory for:

• Passengers travelling in an incubator or stretcher.
• Passengers who cannot comprehend or respond properly to safety instructions due to mental disability.
• Passengers unable to evacuate independently due to severe mobility impairment.
• Passengers with severe vision and hearing impairment who are unable to communicate with the crew members or evacuate from the aircraft in an emergency. 
• Passengers requiring medical clearance (below) must provide these documents before traveling: (a) Medical Clearance Form (MEDIF), Part I, and (b) Medical Information Form (MEDIF), Part II:
  • Passengers suffering from a contagious disease that poses a threat to themselves or others. 
  • Passengers who may cause discomfort or danger to other passengers. 
  • Passengers who may negatively impact the safety or punctuality of a flight, or cause it to be diverted or make an unscheduled landing. 
  • Passengers who are incapable of looking after themselves or who require medical supervision. 
  • Passengers requiring a stretcher or medical oxygen service on the flight.
  • Passengers suffering from life-threatening conditions/terminal illness.
