According to the Garuda Indonesia pet policy, pets are only accepted as checked baggage on direct domestic flights with less than 2 hours of flying time. Pets are not allowed in the passenger cabin. However, trained service animals are allowed to travel free in the passenger cabin both on domestic and international flights.

Garuda Indonesia does not accept pets in the cabin. However, trained service animals (dogs) can travel free of charge in the passenger cabin with their owners on both domestic and international flights.
Garuda Indonesia Pet Policy – Pets as Checked Baggage
Garuda Indonesia accepts dogs, cats, and other small mammals in the cargo hold as accompanied checked baggage on flights within Indonesia only.
- Animals Allowed. Properly crated dogs, cats, household birds, and other small mammals like hamsters.
- Maximum Weight. The maximum weight (incl. pet carrier) must not exceed 70.5lb/32kg.
- Pet Carrier Restrictions. The pet carrier/cage must meet IATA regulations.
- Pet Reservations and Check-in
- Call to book your pet in advance as space is limited.

- Flight Restrictions
- Must be direct flights with no layovers.
- The flight duration must not exceed 2 hours.
- Pets are now allowed on ATR72-600 aircraft.

- Pet Fees. Animals travelling in the hold are charged with excess baggage rates. The pet fees range from IDR 47,000 to 2,300,000, depending on your route.

Garuda Indonesia does not transport pets as air cargo.
