Thai Airways Flight Change Policy

The Thai Airways flight change policy allows free flight changes only within the 24-hour grace period, after which you will likely have to pay a flight change fee for making any changes. When making changes to your flight, you will also have to pay the difference between the old and new fares, taxes, and surcharges. A couple of important things to remember about the Thai Airways flight change policy are that you can make flight changes online only if you purchased your ticket directly through the airline’s website or mobile app, and tickets purchased through travel agents can only be changed through them.

Below are the major highlights of Thai Airways change flight policy:

• You have the right to a full refund if Thai Airways significantly changes your flight time, the time is unacceptable to you, and you cannot be booked on a flight that suits you.
• If you want to make changes to a flight due to a Force Majeure condition, you must contact Thai Airways immediately so that the airline can transport you to your destination or next stopover without recalculating your fare, i.e., at no additional charge. 
• You can rebook your trip online (or with the mobile app) without penalty up to 72 hours before departure, as long as you purchased the original ticket online through Thai Airways’ website or mobile app and are willing to pay the fare difference. 
• If your flight is cancelled for reasons Thai Airways could have avoided, you are entitled to:
  • Take a rerouted flight to your destination/stopover at no additional cost
  • Care during the period of delay
  • Refund and compensation 
• You are entitled to the following if Thai Airways cancels or fails to stop at your destination/ stopover or operate per schedule, or causes you to miss a connecting flight in which you have a confirmed booking:
  • Take the next available flight at no additional charge, or  
  • Extend your ticket’s validity and travel later:
    • On Thai Airways at no additional charge, or
    • On another carrier at no additional charge, or
    • On a mutually acceptable means and class of transportation at no additional charge, or  
  • Ask for a full refund 
• If you book a ticket at least 7 days before departure, you can hold it at the quoted price without payment for 24 hours and make changes to it without penalty if you pay the fare difference (if any) within the 24-hour grace period.

You can make changes to your Thai Airways flight:

1. By phone
   1. Through a Thai Airways call center near you
2. Online through My Booking
   (only if you purchased your ticket through the Thai Airways website/mobile app and up to 6 hours before departure)
3. At a Thai Airways sales office
4. At a Thai Airways airport ticket counter
5. Through the travel agency that issued your ticket

How to Change a Thai Airways Flight Online

The Thai Airways flight change policy allows you to make changes to domestic and international flights under the following conditions: 

• The flights must be operated by Thai Airways 
• International flights must originate from Thailand, Japan, Singapore, China, Korea, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Norway, Denmark, and Bangladesh 
• The changes must be made at least 6 hours before departure
• Flight changes are permitted according to the fare rules of the ticket
• Online changes will apply to all passengers in a booking 
• You must pay the applicable fare difference (between the old and the new fare)

You can use the Manage Booking (i.e., My Booking) tab to:

1. Modify your flight
2. Rebook a new flight
3. Request additional services such as:
   1. Meals
   2. Seat
   3. Excess baggage
4. Update your personal information, such as:
   1. E-mail 
   2. Phone number
   3. Royal Orchid Plus (ROP) membership details

To change a Thai Airways flight online, follow the steps below:

1. Go to the homepage, ThaiAirways.com
2. Click on the My Booking tab
3. Enter your booking reference number and last name 
4. Click on the Find Booking button
5. Select the Modify flights option 
6. Follow the prompts to make the required changes

• You will have to pay the applicable flight change fee 
• If your new flight ticket is costlier, you must pay the fare difference 
• If your new flight ticket is cheaper, the balance will not be refunded

How to Change Flight Date on Thai Airways

How to change your flight date on Thai Airways will depend on how you purchased your ticket. 

• You can change your flight date online only if you purchased your ticket through Thai Airways’ website or mobile app. 
• If you purchased your ticket through a travel agent, you must contact the travel agent directly to make changes to your ticket.

The Thai Airways flight change policy allows you to change flight dates:

1. Over the phone by calling:
   1. A call center in your city
2. Through the My Booking tab on ThaiAirways.com
   (only if you booked directly through the Thai Airways website or mobile app)
3. At a THAI sales office
4. At a THAI ticket counter (airport)

Thai Airways Change Flight Fee

The Thai Airways change flight fee will depend on what type of ticket you’ve purchased and your route, as shown below.

• Thai Airways change flight fee for Economy Saver fares is USD 100, with the following exceptions:
  • The change flight fee is USD 50 for tickets with fares ending with -MYOVNE, -MLYVNA1,
    -MHYVNA1. 
  • The change flight fee is USD 75 for ticket fares ending with -OLOVNE, -OLFVNE, -BLYVNW, and -BLYVNE.
  • The change flight fee is USD 150 for ticket fares ending with -BLOVN2W, -BLEVN2W,
    -BLOVNE,  -BLEVNE, -MLEVN2W, -MLOVNE, -MLEVNE, -BLOVNE, -BLFVNE,
    -ZYOVNE, -ZYYVNE, -ZYYVN1, -ZYOVN1, -MLOVN2W, -MYYVNW1, and -MYOVNW1.
  • For tickets with fares ending with -LAVN1W, you must select the new travel date:
    • At least 30 days before the first departure date for domestic tickets with Bangkok as the destination.
    • At least 60 days before the first departure date for intercontinental destination tickets.
  • The new travel date must be selected in advance per the following rules except for tickets with fares ending with YU-A3VN, YU-A6VN URYA3VN, YUYA3VN, TR-A1VN, TR-A3VN, JRYA3VN, JRYA6VN, WR-A1VN, KR-A1VN, VR-A1VN, VR-A3VN, WR-A3VN, VR-OAVN, WR-OAVN, KR-A3VN.
    • At least 14 days before departure to -KBV/CNX/BKK/HKT.
    • At least 30 days before departure to DPS/PNH/ VTE/SIN/JKT/ HKG/KUL/MNL/TPE/PUS/SEL/TYO/OSA/FUK/NGO/BJS/CTS/CAN/SHA/XMN/CTU
    • ISB/LHE/KHI/RGN/KMG/CCU/DAC/CMB/BOM/DEL/BLR/MAA/HYD/KTM.
    • At least 60 days before departure to VIE/BRU/DXB/CPH/LON/FRA/MIL/MCT/ MUC/MOW/PAR/OSL/STO/ROM/ZRH/THR/SYD/MEL/PER/BNE/AKL.
• The Thai Airways change flight fee for Economy Flex Saver fares is GBP 75, with the following exceptions:
  • GBP 100 for tickets with fares ending with -LEGBSE, -YOGB1E, and -YAGB1E.
  • GBP 150 for tickets fares basis ending with -LEGBLE, -LEGB1B, -LEGB1D, -RX7GBE.
  • GBP 180 for tickets with fare basis ending with -EGBRE.
  • USD 130 for tickets with fares ending with -RY7399.

Note: You must pay the difference in fares, taxes, and fuel surcharges.

• Thai Airways change the flight fee for Economy Flexi Class fares. All you need to do is:
  • Pay the applicable difference in fares, taxes, and surcharges.
  • Make the changes up to 24 hours before departure
    (changing within 24 hours of departure will be treated as a No-Show)
• Thai Airways change the flight fee for Economy Full Flexi fares. All you need to do is:
  • Pay the fare difference and taxes.
  • Make the changes before the departure of the first flight and within the timeframe specified on your ticket.
  • Flight change/date change after the first flight’s departure will be treated as a No-Show.
• Thai Airways flight change fee for Royal Silk Flexi (Business Class) fares. All you need to do is:
  • Pay the fare difference and taxes before ticket expiration. 
  • Rebook in the same booking class and seasonality.
  • If the fare is combined with another fare (outbound or inbound), the rules for changes and fees will apply by fare component. If you’re changing both inbound and outbound flights, the highest fee for all changed fare components will apply. 
  • The change fee for flights from Denmark is DKK 1,500, with the following exceptions:
    • The change fee is DKK 2,000 for tickets with fares ending with -HYFDK0B.
    • The change fee is USD 130 for tickets with fares ending with -RY7399.
  • The change flight fee for flights from Norway is NOK 2,000, with the following exceptions:
    • The change fee is NOK 2,500 for tickets with fares ending with -LGNOWB.
    • The change fee is USD 130 for tickets with fares ending with -RY7399.
