How can I change my flight online?
You can make changes to your flight date, time, or destination online from the homepage via the Manage booking tab if you purchased yours directly through Air New Zealand (website, mobile app, call center, or ticket office).
To make changes to your flight online, follow the steps below:
You will receive your E-ticket by email.
Note
If you don’t want to travel anymore, you can change your flight, ask for a flight credit, or cancel it and ask for a refund (if your fare conditions permit).
1. Change flights. If your flight is within New Zealand, you can change your travel plans up to the date of departure. If you’re flying on an international route, you will not be charged any flight change fee (on the same route) if your flight is departing before June 30, 2022. However, you must pay the applicable fare difference.
2. Ask for a flight credit
If your international flight is departing before June 30, 2022, you can ask for a flight credit and use it to travel later. If you received your flight credit:
Before January 31, 2022, you must rebook your new flight by January 31, 2023, and complete your travel no later than December 31, 2023.
On/after February 1, 2022, you must rebook your new flight within 12 months from the date your flight credit was processed, and complete your travel no later than 1 year after the date of booking.
3. Ask for a refund
If the fare conditions of your ticket permit, you can ask for a refund—with or without penalty—depending on the fare conditions of your ticket. Non-refundable tickets cannot be refunded. Refundable tickets can be refunded for a fee (or no fee), depending on what type of ticket you’ve purchased.
If you purchased your ticket directly from Air New Zealand (website, app, call center, or ticket office), you can make the changes online via Manage booking or by phone. Depending on what type of ticket you’ve purchased, a flight change fee and/or fare difference will apply. If you’re not able to make the changes online, call Air New Zealand to help with the changes.
You will need to upgrade to seat+bag to add a bag to your seat fare. If you purchased your ticket directly through Air New Zealand, you can do this online via Manage booking or by phone.
If you’re not allotted the seat you booked, a similar seat will be provided to you on an alternative flight or you will be compensated per the applicable law for your route.

That depends on what type of fare you’ve purchased. Most flights can be modified before departure, with or without a flight change fee, depending on your fare type. Your fare type will be indicated on your E-ticket’s receipt page.
Some changes are free of charge, such as special meal requests. Others cost extra, such as switching flights, upgrading your seat, or purchasing extra baggage. You can make these changes by phone or online (if you purchased your ticket directly through Air New Zealand’s website, app, call center, or reservation office).
A service fee will apply additionally if you’re making the changes through Air New Zealand’s call center, but no service fee will be charged if you’re making the changes online.
