With a flexible ticket, you have the flexibility to change your flight dates, times, or even destinations, allowing for greater convenience and adaptability. This is especially beneficial if you have an uncertain schedule. 

On the other hand, non-flexible tickets come with more restrictions and limitations, often requiring you to pay fees to make changes. While non-flexible tickets may be more affordable initially, they can end up costing more in the long run if your travel plans need to be altered. 

The major highlights of Aeromexico flight change policy are provided below.

• Flight changes must be made at least 3 hours before departure. 
• Basic fares cannot be changed. 
• On select routes, you can make a one-time change without penalty to all non-flexible branded fares (except Basic) other than on domestic routes within Mexico (chargeable). 
• You can make unlimited changes without penalty to all flexible fares.
• You must pay the fare difference (if any) between the original and the current fare even if you’re not paying any flight change fee/penalty, 
• If you’re travelling on a branded fare within Mexico, Central America (CAM), South America (SUD), the Caribbean (CAR), Canada (CAN), Europe (EUR), and Asia (ASI):
  • You cannot make flight changes to a Basic fare (V). 
  • You can make a penalty-freeone-time flight change to the following fares, except on domestic flights within Mexico (MEX), which will be subject to a flight change fee of MXN 700 (incl. IVA)/USD 35 + taxes.

• If you’re travelling between the U.S. and Mexico:
  • You cannot make any changes to Basic fares (V).
  • You can make a one-time change to the following fares by paying a flight change fee of USD 200 + taxes:

Aeromexico Changed My Flight – What are My Options?

If Aeromexico has changed your flight or rescheduled it, check the airline’s policies regarding flight changes and cancellations. Depending on the circumstances, you may be eligible for a full refund or a rebooking on another flight free of charge. However, if your flight is within the EU or departs from the EU and is delayed by 2 hours or more (or cancelled), you may additionally be entitled to special rights.

Your best option would be to contact Aeromexico and discuss your specific situation and the available options. Also review your travel insurance policy (if you have one), as it may provide coverage for flight changes or cancellations. Aeromexico Schedule Change Policy

Aeromexico’s Schedule Change Policy provides flexibility and convenience for passengers when unexpected changes occur. In the event of a schedule change, Aeromexico will make every effort to notify you promptly and offer suitable alternatives. 

You have the option to request a full refund if the new schedule does not meet your travel needs. Alternatively, you can choose to rebook on another flight within a certain time frame without incurring any change fees. 

Aeromexico Involuntary Schedule Change Policy

If Aeromexico cancels your flight because of controllable reasons or travel restrictions imposed by the government, you have the following options (even if you’re travelling on a Basic fare):

1. Rebook your flight by making a one-time change to your date and/or route.
   1. If the new fare is costlier and your flight was rescheduled within 14 days of departure, the fare difference will be waived. 
   2. If your flight was disrupted due to government restrictions, the fare difference will only be waived if you start your new travel within 60 days of Aeromexico re-commencing its flight service. 

2. Requesta refund via EMD, i.e., Electronic Miscellaneous Document.
   1. The EMD will be valid for 1 year from the date of issue. 
   2. You must complete your travel within 330 days of your booking date.

3. Request a refund to your original form of payment.

Note

• Even Basic fare passengers are eligible for the above rebooking/refund benefits, provided their flight is impacted by a controllable cancellation or a scheduled cancellation due to government restrictions. 
• EMDs do not apply to Aeroméxico Vacations.

• Aeromexico will not pay any additional costs, like meals, ground transportation, phone calls, accommodation, and other expenses incurred by affected passengers.
• Important. If you purchase your ticket from Europe and your flight is delayed by at least 2 hours (or cancelled), or if you were denied boarding, you must ask an agent at the ticket counter or boarding gate for the text stating your passenger rights, as you may be entitled to compensation and assistance.

Aeromexico Change Fees

The change fees for non-flexible fares will depend on your route and fare class, as shown in the tables below.

• Non-flexible fares are subject to a change fee, as shown below.
• Flexible fares (not mentioned in the tables below) are not subject to any change fee (flight, date, time, or destination)—you can make unlimited changes without paying any penalty.
• All flight changes are subject to the fare difference between the original and new fares.

Aeromexico Change Flight Fees

Aeromexico change flight cost for non-flexible fares will depend on your fare type and route, as provided in the tables above. The total flight change cost will include two components—the flight change fee plus the fare difference between your original fare and the rebooked fare, both of which you’ll be required to pay.

Aeromexico Change Flight Date Fee

As indicated above, if you’re changing the flight date of a non-flexible fare, the change fees will comprise the flight change fee (depending on your fare class and route) plus the fare difference between the original and the rebooked fare and must pay both.

If you want to change the flight date by phone, call Aeromexico and ask an agent to assist you with the necessary changes. You will need to provide your booking information and explain that you would like to change the date of your flight. To change the flight date online (or flight time and/or destination), follow the steps below:

1. Go to the homepage, Aeromexico.com
2. Select My Trips

3. On the page that shows up (above), do the following:
   1. Click on the Change or cancel your flight button
   2. Enter your reservation or ticket number and your last name
   3. Hit the forward arrow button (🡪)
4. Select the flight you want to change 
5. Follow the prompts to change your flight time/date/destination
6. Review the changes 
7. Pay the additional fees and fare difference, if any 

You will receive your new ticket by email immediately after your payment is received. 

Tip. Remember to double-check any other travel arrangements you may have made, such as hotel accommodations or car rentals, to ensure that they align with your new flight date. 

Aeromexico Same Day Change Policy

Aeromexico same day flight change policy offers you the flexibility to make changes to your flight itinerary on the day of travel on all tickets except for Basic fares. You can use the same-day change service to switch to an earlier or later flight on the same route, subject to availability. 

To take advantage of the same-day option, you must visit an Aeromexico ticket counter at the airport and request a same-day flight change. It is important to note that:

• You must request the required changes at least 3 hours before departure. 
• You may have to pay additional fees (unless you’ve purchased a Flexible ticket). 
• You must pay the fare differential between the old and the new fare (if any).
