Passengers Not Eligible for Online Check-in
In what cases will I be unable to check in online at Philippine Airlines?
You will not be able to check in online if:
- Your booking is not confirmed
- You require medical/special assistance
- You’re an unaccompanied minor
- You have an outstanding payment or refund to settle
- You’re holding a group booking of more than 15 passengers
- You’re traveling from the following cities:
- Jinjiang, Xiamen, and Chengdu (China),
- Tagbilaran to Incheon
In all of the above-mentioned cases, you will have to check in physically at the airport counter.
Note. You can check in online for a return or connecting flight if it is within 24 hours.
Philippine Airlines Mobile Check-in
You can check with the mobile app from 24 hours to 60 minutes before departure for domestic flights, and from 24 hours to 75 minutes before departure for international flights.
How to check-in
To check in with the Philippine Airlines mobile app, tap on the check-in button, enter your booking reference and last name, and click on the Check-in button. After your check-in is confirmed, your mobile boarding pass will appear on your screen. You can save it to your device and show it at the airport without having to print it.

Airport Counter Check-in
Philippine Airlines recommends that you check in physically at the airport no later than 2 hours prior to departure for a domestic flight (within the Philippines), and no later than 3 hours prior to departure for an international flight.
Early Check-in
Philippine Airlines’ check-in counters at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Centennial Terminal 2 open at 1.30 am for domestic flights and at 4.00 am for international flights, so you can check in well ahead of your departure time if you wish.
Express Counter
If you’re a senior citizen travelling with up to 2 companions, or a normal passenger travelling without checked baggage, you can use the Express Check-in Counters at Manila NAIA Terminal 2 and Mactan airports. The counters are located nearest to the entrance of the airport terminal building, to check-in for their international or domestic flight.

If you’ve already checked in online or with the mobile app:
- If traveling domestically with checked baggage, you must be at the check-in Bag Drop counter at least 45 minutes before departure to check in your baggage and get your documents verified.
- If traveling domestically without checked baggage, you must reach the boarding gate at least 15 minutes before departure.
- If traveling internationally (outside of the Philippines), you must reach the check-in Bag Drop counter at least 60 minutes before departure to check in your baggage and get your documents verified. However, on flights from Quanzhou (Jinjiang), you must reach the Bag Drop counter at least 45 minutes before your flight’s departure.
After you check in at the airport counter, make sure that:
- Your boarding pass shows the correct name, flight, and destination.
- Your checked bags are correctly tagged and you have collected your receipts.
- You have collected your travel documents and ticket from the counter.
- You complete all the formalities by going through your security checks, paying your airport tax, etc., and reach the boarding gates before they close (Reach the boarding gate before it closes (15 minutes before departure for most flights, and 30 minutes before departure for flights departing from Caticlan Airport).
