You can check in for your Swoop Airlines flight through:

Swoop Airlines Check-in Time

You must complete your Swoop Airlines check-in and drop off your baggage no later than 1 hour before departure for both domestic flights (within Canada) and international flights. However, if you’re travelling with overweight or oversized bags, you must complete your bag drop no less than 90 minutes (1.5 hours) before departure. 

All passengers must carry a copy of their boarding pass—either printed separately or saved on the same device if travelling in a group.

Boarding begins 45 minutes before departure and closes 15 minutes before departure. If you fail to meet the cut-off deadlines, you will not be allowed to board your flight and the fare paid you will be forfeited.

Swoop Airlines’ online check-in time for both domestic and international flights through the airline’s website starts 24 hours before flight departure and closes 60 minutes before flight departure. However, if your flight takes off in less than 1 hour, you must check in at the airport.

Airport Self-Service Kiosk Check-in Time

Swoop Airlines’ self-service kiosk check-in time for both domestic and international flights is as follows: 

  • For any domestic flight within Canada, the kiosk check-in time is from 3 hours to 45 minutes before departure, depending on the departure and destination cities.
  • For international flights, the kiosk check-in time is from 3 hours to 60 minutes before departure, depending on the departure and destination cities.  

Airport Ticket Counter Check-in Time

Swoop Airlines’ airport ticket counter check-in time is as follows: 

  • For any domestic flight within Canada, the ticket counter check-in time is from 3 hours to 45 minutes before departure, depending on the departure and destination cities.
  • For international flights, the ticket counter check-in time is from 3 hours to 60 minutes before departure, depending on the departure and destination cities.  

Swoop Airlines Online Check-in

You can check in for your Swoop Airlines flight online through the airline’s official website from 24 hours to 60 minutes before departure for domestic and international flights. 

To web check-in for your flight, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the homepage, FlySwoop.com
  2. Click on the Check-in a tab on top
  3. Select the departing airport from the dropdown 
  4. Enter your reservation code and last name
    (You would have received your reservation code at the time of booking; it is also included in the confirmation email you would have received after booking your ticket).
  5. Click on the Check-In button 
  6. Select your flight and follow the prompts to check-in 
  7. Now do any of the following:
    1. Save your boarding pass to your mobile device
      (if you’re using your mobile device to check-in)
    2. Email your boarding pass to yourself
      (to download and/or print it later)

As explained, after you’ve finished checking in, you will have the option to save your boarding pass to your mobile device, or email it yourself and print or download it. Regardless of how you save it, you must have your boarding pass readily accessible at the airport. 

Important 

  • You won’t be able to check in online if:
    • You’re a special needs passenger, such as an unaccompanied minor 
    • You don’t have an electronic ticket
  • If you’re carrying overweight or oversized baggage, you must drop your bags no less than 1.5 hours before departure.
  • Boarding gates close 15 minutes before departure.

Airport Self-Service Kiosk Check-in

You can check in at an airport self-service kiosk from 3 hours to 60 minutes before departure for international flights and 45 minutes prior to departure for any domestic flight within Canada.

To check in at an airport kiosk, follow the steps below:

  1. Use the touchscreen to identify yourself by:
    1. Inserting your credit card, or 
    2. Entering your Reservation Code/Frequent Flyer Number
  2. Confirm your flight information
  3. Confirm or select your seat
  4. Indicate whether you’ll be checking in baggage
  5. Pay the baggage fee with your credit card 
  6. Collect your bag tags
  7. Obtain a printout of your boarding pass
    (each passenger must carry a hard or soft copy their own boarding pass

Note: Depending on the kiosk machine, the steps may vary slightly.

Airport Ticket Counter Check-in

Swoop Airlines airport ticket counters typically open 3 hours before departure and close 45 minutes before departure for domestic flights (Canada) and 60 minutes before departure for international flights. 

This means you should have completed your check-in and baggage drop:

  • At least 45 minutes before departure for any domestic flight within Canada
  • At least 60 minutes before departure for international flights

Boarding: Be sure to reach the boarding gate 45 minutes before departure when boarding begins. The boarding gate closes 15 minutes before departure, so you must be at the boarding more than 15 minutes before departure. If you’re late, you will not be allowed to board your flight and your fare will be forfeited (Swoop does not charge a no-show fee).

Boarding Pass: You must carry your own boarding pass. Your can either print it separately or have all boarding passes saved on the same device if you’re travelling in a group.

Swoop Airlines ID Requirements 

On domestic flights: 

  • Adult passengers must either carry one valid, non-expired photo ID issued by the Canadian government or two non-photo IDs issued by the Canadian government. 
  • Infants and children below 17 years of age must either carry a document proving their age or a government-issued ID. 

On international flights, adults, children, and infants must carry a valid passport.

If you miss your Swoop flight, you’ll have to buy a new ticket. If you don’t want to buy a new ticket, you’ll be offered a flight credit minus CAD 100 as cancellation fee. However, if you’ve purchased a return ticket, it won’t be cancelled.

Do all passengers need to carry their own boarding pass?

Yes, each passenger is required to carry a copy of her or his boarding pass. It can either be a hard copy or a soft copy saved on a single mobile device if travelling in a group.

Why isn’t my Swoop boarding showing up on my phone?

If your Swoop boarding pass doesn’t show up on your phone, you can check in at the airport for free.

Why isn’t the reservation code working on your website?

Your reservation code may not be working on the website because you may have mistakenly entered the number 1 instead of the letter I, zero for the letter O, and so on. In such a scenario, check for possible errors and try again.

Will I be able to gate-check my baby’s stroller?

Yes, you can gate-check a stroller. You can take it up to the gate and check it before your flight.

Why didn’t I receive my Swoop itinerary?

If you didn’t receive your itinerary, check your spam folder or junk mail. If you’ve shared your work email, it’s possible that messages from unknown parties like Swoop may have been filtered out.
