You’re entitled to flight delay compensation only if the flight delay (or cancellation) is within the airline’s control and not for safety reasons or reasons beyond the airline’s control, such as bad weather, airport strike, etc.
If you are informed of a flight delay or cancellation at the destination point within 14 days of departure, you will be entitled to a minimum compensation of:
$125 if your flight’s arrival time at the destination point is delayed by more than 3 hours and under 6 hours compared to your original flight.
$250 if your flight’s arrival time at the destination point is delayed by 6 hours or more but under 9 hours compared to your original flight.
$500 if your flight’s arrival time at the destination point is delayed by 9 hours or more compared to your original flight.
