You can web check for an AirAsia flight via the airline’s website from 14 days before departure to 1 hour before departure for AirAsia flights and 4 hours before departure for AirAsia X flights.
How to web check-in for an AirAsia flight
To web check-in for your AirAsia flight:
Go to AirAsia.com
Click on the Check-in tab (see the screenshot above) The following page will appear on your screen:
Enter your Booking number and First name or Surname
Click on the Search button to access your itinerary
Follow the prompts to check in
You will receive your electronic boarding pass by email.
When you web check-in for your flight, you can also:
Select a seat of your choice
Change your seat (for a fee) if you had selected earlier
Choose a special meal (at least 24 hours before departure)
Book extra baggage
Download your electronic boarding pass (most cases)
Note
After checking in and dropping off your bags on the day of travel, you must reach the boarding gate at least 30 minutes before your flight’s departure (boarding gates close 20 minutes before departure).
Documents required. If you’re checking in for a domestic flight, you’ll need to carry a valid ID card. For international flights, you’ll need a passport that is valid for at least the next 6 months. To avoid complications at the destination airport, make sure you have a visa and a return ticket.
You will need to check in at the airport if:
You’re traveling to/from the United States or the Maldives.
You require special assistance or experience reduced mobility.

If AirAsia web check-in is not working, try refreshing your browser or use a different browser to check in. Also, make sure you’ve entered all the fields accurately. If you’re still unable to check in or if your airport does not accept web check-ins, you will need to check in at the airport kiosk or counter.

Select the Check-in tab
Enter your flight booking details
Select the passenger name (do not check the COVID-19 declaration box at this stage)
Upload the certificate/document (such as PCR/Safe Travel Pass)
After the document has been approved, a green checkmark with the word Verified will show up on your screen.
Click on the Continue button
Check the COVID-19 Declaration box to check in
You will receive your electronic boarding pass.
On the day of travel, you can:
Proceed to the gate directly, or
Go to the check-in kiosk to print your bag tag and perform a self-baggage drop (if available), or
Drop your bags at the bag drop counter and proceed for security checks and boarding

What are the web check-in rules and requirements at AirAsia?
If you’re performing a web check-in for an Air Asia flight, the following rules apply:
For AirAsia flights, web check-in is available from 14 days to 1 hour before departure.
For AirAsia X flights, web check-in is available from 14 days to 4 hours before departure.
Web check-in is not available for:
Passengers traveling to and from the United States or the Maldives
Passengers with a medical condition
Pregnant passengers

AirAsia Self-Service Kiosk Check-in
You can check in at the airport’s self-service kiosk from 14 days before departure to 1 hour before departure for AirAsia flights, and 4 hours before departure for AirAsia X flights.
Aside from checking in, you can print your boarding pass and get your bags tagged at the check-in kiosks at most airports in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and India. If you’re self-checking in at the airport, have your 6-character booking number ready (it appears in your travel itinerary).
Kiosk check-ins are free for international flights but subject to a check-in fee of RM 10 per passenger on domestic flights within Malaysia.
Note
If you’re traveling to an international destination (outside of Malaysia) on AirAsia, you will have to validate your web boarding pass at your airport’s self-check-in counter even if you’ve completed your online check-in.
