Frontier Airlines Check-in

Frontier Airlines check-in is the process by which passengers confirm their travel details and receive their boarding passes before boarding a Frontier Airlines flight. This can be done online through the airline’s website or mobile app, at self-service kiosks located at the airport, or at the check-in counter with an agent. 

Passengers are typically required to check in at least 45 minutes prior to their scheduled departure time for domestic flights and 60 minutes prior for international flights.  Those who choose to check in online can do so starting 24 hours prior to departure. During the Frontier check in process, passengers also have the option to select their seats, purchase upgrades, and add any additional services such as baggage allowances or in-flight meals. 

At the airport, passengers can use self-service kiosks to print their boarding passes and check any luggage they may have. Alternatively, they can also check in with a Frontier Airlines representative at the airport counter. 

Regardless of how one chooses to check in, it is important to arrive at the airport with enough time to complete the process and make it through security before the flight departs. 

Like other airlines, Frontier Airlines requires all passengers to check in before their flight. This can be done online or at the airport, but it is mandatory for all passengers. It is recommended that all passengers check in online or with the mobile app to save time and avoid long lines at the airport.

Frontier Check in Process

Frontier Airlines check-in process allows you to check in for your flight in several ways–online, with the mobile app, through priority check-in, at an airport kiosk, or ticket counter. 
Online and mobile check-in are available up to 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. At the airport, self-service kiosks are available for check-in and bag drop-off. If you have checked baggage, it is recommended that you arrive at the airport at least 2 hours prior to departure time. Frontier also offers a convenient Baggage Drop service for those who have already checked in online or via the mobile app and only need to drop off their bags.

How to check in online?

Checking in online allows you to bypass the hassle of standing in a line at the airport check-in counter—and takes less than a minute.

For checking in online through Frontier Airlines website: 

1. Go to FlyFrontier.com
2. Click on the the My Trip / Check-In tab tab 
3. Enter your Last Name and flight’s Confirmation Code
   (Your confirmation code is a combination of 6 letters and numbers, such as FLY123)

4. Hit the Search button 
   (you will see your flight details)
5. Select the flight you want to check in for
6. Check in for your flight by following the onscreen prompts 

When checking in online, you will be able to:

• View your itinerary
• Select/upgrade your seat
• Download and print your boarding pass
• Buy extra baggage
  (buying it at the airport costs more) 

Note

• If you’re not travelling with checked baggage, go through your security checks and head for the boarding gate. Be sure to carry your boarding pass and photo ID.
• If you’re carrying checked baggage, drop it at the Bag Drop counter before the check-in counters close. 
• Oversize and excess baggage fees can be paid at the airport. 
• Items that are exempt from baggage fees can be checked in with a a fee waiver only at the airport.

Online Check-in May Not be Possible in the Following Cases

You can’t check in online at Frontier Airlines if:

• You’re traveling with a pet – Check Frontier Airlines Pet Policy
• You requested special services assistance at the airport, such as:
  • Wheelchair assistance
  • Cognitive/development disability-related assistance 
  • Hearing or sight-impaired related assistance
  • When traveling with an emotional support or a a trained service animal
  • When traveling with medical equipment such as a portable oxygen concentrator

Frontier Airlines Mobile Check-in

Phone check-in allows you to check in with mobile app as explained below as explained below:

• Log in after tapping on the check-in option
• Enter the required information 
• Follow the onscreen prompts to check in

After checking in, you can save your boarding pass on your device.

You can use the Frontier Airlines mobile app to: 

• Check-in for your flight 
• Make flight reservations
• Add bags
• Select/upgrade your seat 
• View your flight status
• Cancel/change your flight 
• Download your mobile boarding pass

You May Not Be Able to Check in with the Mobile App in the Following Cases

1. You requested special services assistance at the airport, such as:
   • Wheelchair assistance
   • Cognitive/development disability-related assistance 
   • Hearing or sight-impaired related assistance
   • When traveling with an emotional support or trained service animal
   • When traveling with medical equipment such as a portable oxygen concentrator
2. You are traveling with a pet 

Frontier Airlines Priority Check-in 

If you’re holding one of the bundles (WORKS or PERKS) or you’re a Frontier Miles Elite-level member, you can check in via Frontier Airlines Priority Check-In lanes at select airports. Priority services include priority security and boarding. 

Frontier Airlines Kiosk Check-in
You can use the self-service touchscreen kiosks (available at select airports) to:

• Check yourself in 
• Check your bags
• View your itinerary
• Select/upgrade your seat 
• Print your boarding pass

To check in, you will need your:

• Flight confirmation code
  (it is a 6-character alphanumeric code, such as FLY789 or C5CEKG, appearing on the top right corner of your confirmation mail). 
• Confirmation email, or 
• Credit card and ID, or 
• Passport 

After getting your boarding pass, you can check in your bags at the Bag Drop counter.

Frontier Airlines Airport Check-in

After you reach the airport check-in counter, you will need to show your ticket and travel documents, and be able to check in your luggage. 

Frontier Airlines Boarding Priority 

Boarding usually starts 30 – 35 minutes before departure, so aim to be there by then. Gate assignments tend to change frequently, so to , so to avoid last-minute delays, do do check the flight monitors at the airport at the airport.

Frontier Airlines boarding order takes place in the following sequencetakes place in the following sequence:

1. Special Needs Passengers. Includes passengers who need wheelchairs (or boarding assistance) and unaccompanied minors. Frontier Airlines doesn’t make announcements for special needs boarding, so check with a Frontier Airlines agent at the gate if you’ll be requiring you’ll be requiring boarding assistance.
2. Zone 1. Includes Frontier Miles Elite members, passengers who have purchased the WORKS and the PERKS bundles, and the the carry-on bag option. 
3. Courtesy Boarding. Includes families travelling with small children (below 3 years) and passengers who require boarding assistance. 
4. Zones 2, 3, and 4. Passengers in Zones 2 – 4 are called in the same order to move from the rear to forward.

• Passengers with mobility problems 
• Passengers who are hard of hearing or deaf
• Passengers who are sight-impaired or blind

When you can check in at Frontier Airlines will depend on how you’re checking in (online, or at the airport kiosk or counter) and your route (international or domestic).

Frontier Check in Online Time (Starting and Closing) 

Frontier Airlines online check in time limits are as follows:

• International Routes. From 24 hours to 60 minutes before departure.
  • You should have checked in your bags at least 1 hour before your flight’s departure.
  • You must carry your printed boarding pass—unless you have downloaded it to your mobile. 
• Domestic Routes. From 24 hours to 45 45 minutes before departure.
  • You must have checked in your bags at least 45 minutes before your flight’s departure.
  • If you didn’t download your mobile boarding pass, you must carry your printed boarding pass. 

Mobile Check–in Time 

Frontier Airlines mobile check-in time limits are as follows:

  • You should have checked your luggage at least 60 minutes before your flight’s departure.
  • You must carry your printed boarding pass—unless you have a mobile boarding pass. 
• Domestic Routes. From 24 hours to 45 minutes 45 minutes before departure.
  • You should have checked your luggage at least 45 minutes beforebefore your flight’s departure.
  • You must carry your printed boarding pass—unless you have a mobile boarding pass. 

Airport Kiosk Check-in Time 

If you haven’t checked in online,you can also check in from the airport’s kiosk. 

• If you’re checking in baggage, reach the airport at least 2 hours before your flight’s departure.
• If you’re not checking in baggage, reach the airport at least 1 hour before your flight’s departure.

Airport Desk/Counter Check-in Time

If you haven’t checked in online,you can also check in from the airport’s full-service check-in counters.

• If you’re checking in baggage, reach the airport at least 2 hours before your flight’s departure.
• If you’re not checking in baggage, reach the airport at least 1 hour before your flight’s departure.

Note

• You must have your boarding pass and must have checked in your bags:
  • International Routes. Minimum 2 hours before departure.
  • Domestic Routes. Minimum 45 minutes before departure. 
• You must be at the boarding gate no later than 30 minutes before departure.
• The doors close 15 minutes before departure.
• Use the airport’s check-in kiosk to print your boarding pass if you forget it or lose it.

Keep enough buffer time for checked baggage, security check, etc.
