From the fees involved to the documentation required, below is a snapshot of everything you need to know about changing your name on a Wizz Air booking.

• Name changes of passengers are allowed online up to 3 hours prior to the scheduled departure time of your flight.
• Wizz Air name corrections made online are free, as long as they involve correcting a misspelled name or a typo, and are made only once in the booking. They include:
  • A correction/addition of up to 3 characters in the name 
  • The extension of an abbreviated name, such as from Jack D. Smith to Jack Daniel Smith so that the name on the travel document matches that on the passenger’s valid legal ID. 
  • The correction of the gender (title) of the name on the booking. 
• The name change fee for name changes/corrections not included above is ‎€50 per flight. However, if you request your name change through Wizz Air’s Call Center, you’ll have to pay a Call Center Transaction Fee of ‎€15.
• If your first and last names appear mixed, you will need to request the correction through Wizz Air’s Call Center. You will not be charged any name change fee or Call Center Transaction Fee in such a scenario.

Wizz Air Name Correction 

If you’ve just booked your ticket or checked in for your flight and then realized that there’s a typo in your name, don’t panic. You can make the name correction free of charge online through Wizz Air website or mobile app. 

Online name corrections can include any one of the following corrections without an additional fee:

1. Gender correction (Male/Female)
2. Name extension if indicated by a letter only (Jack D. Smith to Jack Daniel Smith)
3. A correction of up to 3 characters in the first name or last name (Elizabeth vs Elisabeth)

You can make the name correction online (as explained below) if the error meets any of the above criteria. Name corrections are only available for confirmed flight bookings, and up to 3 hours before your flight’s scheduled departure time.

How To Change the Name on Wizz Air?

You can change (i.e., correct) your name on Wizz Air:

• Online through Wizz Air official website
• By phone 
• Through the travel agent that issued your ticket
• At a Wizz Air sales outlet

At the airport check-in counter

Note. You must complete the name change/correction at least 3 hours before your flight’s scheduled departure time if you’re making the name change online.

How to perform a name change online on Wizz Air?

To make a name change online on Wizz Air:

1. Go to the official website, WizzAir.com
   (or sign in to your Wizz account)
2. Access your itinerary through Check-in & Bookings

(Enter your confirmation code and last name and hit the Search button) 

3. Select the Change Name button
4. Type in your correct name 
5. You will be automatically redirected to your itinerary page. If your name change exceeds the criteria for free name correction, you’ll be redirected to the payment page.

Note

• You can make a name correction even after checking in online for your flight. However, after making the name correction, you will need to check in again and download or print your new boarding card. 
• Free online name corrections are not available for WIZZ Privilege Pass holders and WIZZ Discount Club members.

However, no name change fee applies to name corrections, which can include a correction of gender, or the extension of a name indicated by a letter only, or a correction of up to 3 characters in the first name or last name.
